Our dear friend Islam, 19 years old from Gaza, urgently needs medical treatment in Turkey. He has a blocked artery in his brain, causing pain, pressure, bleeding, and headaches that doctors warn could result in a stroke. Doctors will begin with treatment and monitor his response, but if it doesn’t work, surgery will be required. We need the cost of this treatment urgently so that this treatment can begin.

Regarding the current treatment plan, one month of treatment costs $1,350 USD. We are starting with a goal of $1,500 so Islam can begin as soon as possible. We will continue fundraising for as long as he needs care, and will update supporters along the way. As doctors monitor his progress, surgery and additional care may become necessary.

Islam’s story is heartbreaking. On October 11, 2023 his mother and little brother were killed when their home in Gaza was bombed. He was badly injured and evacuated to Turkey with his older brother. His father and younger sister remain in dire conditions inside Gaza, while he continues raising funds to help them survive; Islam struggles with pain and the stress of his own health crisis.

We have known Islam for nearly 2 years. Normally full of energy, Islam is now in so much pain and stress, that it’s difficult for him to even message us. Please help us get Islam the urgent care he needs and give him hope for recovery. Every action, every donation or share helps Islam get closer to regaining his health, his life, and his faith in humanity.

Here are some words from Islam, detailing his story and what he has endured: I am Islam Abu Seif… a simple person, but life has been very harsh on me, to the point where I write to you today burdened with pain, illness, and the agony that ravages my body day and night. I suffer from a blocked artery in my brain. This disease has made my life difficult, exhausting me, depriving me of sleep and rest, and making each passing day feel like a mountain collapsing on my head. The doctors told me that the only solution is urgent surgery, but the cost is very high, and I have nothing… and every day that passes without treatment worsens the precariousness of my health.

And not only that… I also need essential daily medication, medication that I must purchase on an ongoing basis, but unfortunately, I cannot afford it. Sometimes I endure the pain in silence because I cannot afford my medication, and sometimes I cry from the intensity of my helplessness.

My ordeal worsened when the occupation targeted our home, severely injuring my hand. I now need laser surgery and plastic surgery to repair what was destroyed by the bombing, so that I can live with dignity like any normal person.

My health condition right now is unbearable… My body is exhausted, my soul is tired, and my heart is filled with sadness because I cannot treat myself and do not have enough money for even the simplest things.

That’s why I’m turning to you… O people of merciful hearts, you in whose hearts God has placed mercy, I implore you to help me. I hope that God will grant me a person who will fully embrace my condition… my treatment, my surgeries, and everything I need to get back on my feet. Perhaps God will reward him greatly and make him a factor in saving my life.

Diagnosis: I67.6 – Non-pyogenic thrombosis of the intracranial venous system Decision: The patient ISLAMA S GHORAB, with ID number 98146125770, was admitted to the Neurology Service on 08.08.2025 with a preliminary diagnosis of chronic sinus vein thrombosis. Inpatient monitoring and treatment have been initiated. The patient’s hospitalization continues for further examinations and treatment purposes.

The diagnosis means that the patient has a blood clot in one of the brain’s venous blood vessels (sinus veins). It is not caused by bacteria (that’s why it says “non-pyogenic”).

The decision in the report says that on August 8, 2025, the patient was admitted to the neurology department because the doctors suspected this blood clot. The patient is staying in the hospital, receiving treatment and being closely monitored, while doctors carry out further examinations to better understand the problem and treat it properly.
